JoAnna Forwell

Originally from Canada, Dr. Forwell came to Seattle to study naturopathic medicine at Bastyr University, graduated in 1992, and has been practicing medicine in the Emerald City ever since. Dr. Forwell’s specialty area is in injury and pain management. Since the outset of her career, she was mentored by Dietrich Klinghardt as well as Rick Marinelli, learning various injection modalities commencing with neural therapy and trigger point injection therapy. She traveled to France to study mesotherapy and ultimately focused on gaining expertise in the more advanced regenerative injection techniques of prolotherapy and PRP (platelet-rich plasma). Dr Forwell is arguably the first female ND to have gained such a broad-based repertoire in the realm of needling therapies. She was a founding board member and instructor with NATI (the Naturopathic Academy of Therapeutic Injections), has served on the Board of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, is currently the Treasurer of the Washington Association of Naturopathic Physicians and is a Diplomate with the American Academy of Pain Management.

In her spare time she plays soccer, skis and hikes the Cascade Mountains, dances and plays to Latin rhythms, and drives around on her motorcycle.
