Greg Eckel

ND, L.Ac.

Dr. Greg Eckel has been living in the Portland area since 1992. Dr. Eckel became increasingly aware of and concerned about the overuse of medications with children while teaching preschool, and this experience inspired his entry into Naturopathic and Chinese Medicine. In 2001 he co-founded Nature Cures Clinic.
The combination of Naturopathic and Chinese Medicine (acupuncture and botanical medicine) has provided Dr. Eckel with a variety of tools to treat both acute and chronic illness while valuing the principles of prevention and wellness.
He has developed a deep and personal knowledge of chronic neurological conditions in the recent past.  His wife Sarieah, passed of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD), a condition with no known cure.  As she was the love of his life, being a good husband and doctor, he set to the research to ‘swing for the fence’. Unfortunately, while not finding a remedy for Sarieah, he uncovered Sarieah’s gifts.
For Dr. Eckel, the deep dive uncovered regenerative medicine, the development of a brain regenerative program, the development of a nasal spray specific to calm neuro-inflammation in the brain, procedures such as intranasal stem cell delivery to bypass the blood brain barrier, and mind body techniques to reverse anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder.  The list goes on, and so does the impact of Sarieah’s all too short life on the planet.
He is often asked what he specializes in and replies with the quick retort, “treating people as whole dynamic beings moving through time and space.” In his clinical practice, Dr. Eckel employs the physiology and biochemistry of the body in aiding in healing possibilities. After 17 years in practice, Dr. Eckel is continually amazed at the healing possibilities of the body and focuses on difficult and recalcitrant conditions (ie. those patient who have been everywhere and tried everything often find some relief, and even total resolution, of their health conditions).

Corey Schuler

Corey Schuler, MS, DC, LN, CNS, owns and operates the Metabolic Treatment Center in Bloomington, Minnesota, which emphasizes functional medicine approaches to mood and hormonal conditions. Chronic psychiatric conditions such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, depression and anxiety, often respond quite well to nutritional and lifestyle programs in conjunction with conventional psychiatric and psychological care. However, no 2 people seem to have exactly the same set of circumstances contributing or triggering these conditions. Addressing biochemical individuality, thorough nutritional assessment, and behavior change are the central pillars of the facility's work. Complex hormonally-based conditions such as polycystic ovarian syndrome, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, and recalcitrant weight loss are managed similarly.

In addition to his role as a member of the practitioner advisory council for Emerson, Manchester, New Hampshire, Schuler serves in a medical and scientific advisory role to Direct Laboratory Services, Natural Health International, American Academy of Functional Medicine, and the Certification Board for Nutrition Specialists. Schuler is part of the core faculty at the School of Applied Clinical Nutrition of New York Chiropractic College, Seneca Falls, which offers accredited online masters degrees and prepares students for board certification in clinical nutrition.
